One Day at a Time

Wow! It is so interesting that when I decide to take two weeks to make some diet changes, all I want to do is bake, and EAT, a chocolate cake. I even had to quit watching Food Network while folding clothes. Oh well, change can be tricky.

My first day went very well. I realized how much I rely on sugar to make me feel better. I found that eating some Egg Beaters mid-morning helped curb my hunger and my desire for sugar. I will keep up that habit.

I decided to change how I track my food so I could get a bigger picture of what I am eating and how it is affecting my weight. I spent some time looking at free options online. There appear to be a number of choices, so I just picked one and got started. It was a little frustrating at first because it consumed so much time and I felt guilty putting that much time into it when so many other things needed my attention. However, I reminded myself that there is a learning curve to all things new and committed myself to try this for a week and then re-evaluate. The site I chose was Livestrong.com. Of course, the outcome is only as accurate as the information you put in.
