Morning Workouts

Wow! Now I know where some of the moms go after dropping their children off at school. The gym! I went after dropping my daughter off this morning. Now that I have officially entered the world of public school, I am trying to make the best use of my new found freedom. I want to be as available to my daughter as possible after school, so getting my workouts in early will allow me time to help with homework after school.

Anyway, it was such a wonderful feeling having that out of the way. I was able to wear "big girl" clothes all day instead of hanging out in my sweats so I would be ready to go to the gym. The downside...an incredibly fit female specimen on the stair stepper who is never at the gym in the afternoon. Perfect hair, perfect body, perfect $90 workout attire. I noticed that I wasn't the only one whose eyes were cutting over to her with a face that said..."well, I'm sure she can't be happy!" Hee hee!

I'm going to try to keep up with the early morning workouts at least 3 days a week. I try to take a step class at 5:00 pm when my schedule allows, so I can only commit to 3. I think it will be a step in the right direction.

Tip: I mix my own cereal blends to get a combination with a lot of fiber and that still tastes good. Read the labels. Look for more fiber and lower fat. Make sure you measure. Some serving sizes are surprisingly small. You might be eating twice as many calories as you thought. Then, add a small amount of your favorite sugary cereal and it will be great. One of my favorites is Quaker Corn Bran and a little Reese's Peanut Butter Puffs. Yummm...
