Morning Workouts

Spinning class! Woo hoo! I have been taking this 30 min. class on Saturday mornings for 6 weeks. I had to miss two due to the holidays. This is a good fit for me since I tend to have "work-out" on the brain all Saturday and it bugs me. It is hard to be spontaneous on Saturdays if I have to figure out when I'm going to squeeze in a workout,shower,and spruce up, which for me means about a 2 hour commitment. Well, at my gym, they offer this class at 8:30. I love it because it gives me a couple of hours from waking to eat, have that all important "nectar of the gods"...coffee, hit the gym, come home, and get ready for the day. I should try to do this during the week too, but it just seems harder.

I met my goal of 40 min. of cardio (I added 10 on the treadmill after class) and 20 min. of weights. I will feel much better knowing I got it done.

Tip: try eating salad, soup, or fruit and a glass of water before indulging in a higher calorie main dish. You will be less likely to eat as much. Cut your regular portion size down by a third and then see if you are satisfied. You can always go eat the rest, but only if you are truly hungry.
